new detector need advice

I hunted with my AT Pro in salt water before I got a CZ-21 and had no problems. Run in pro mode. It will chatter a little but but when you hit a real target you will definitely know it will be loud and repeatable. Actually some of my best finds were with my AT Pro.

Thanks for this confirmation.

Sounds like the AT Pro is a good next step and will continue to be a good machine if/when I get a specific saltwater detector. That makes it a good investoment for now, for me.

I really do appreciate all the time and effort shared by the experienced hunters here. both in the forums and in sharing your time and energy putting together YouTube videos. The information is all very useful.

AT Pro is a nice "everything" detector. If you are going to hunt only salt water a CZ-21 would be a better choice but its $$. If you are hunting dry trashy beach, water, and land, the at pro will definitely do that well. I have a CZ but still use the at pro if i am going to be hitting a lot of dry sand during the hunt. You can actually identify aluminum and pennies easily the numbers are fairly consistent. So its possible to avoid ring pulls, and bottle caps etc with the at pro once you learn it. with my cz I dig a lot of pull tabs and ring pulls and pennies. cz really shines in the water and wet sand.

kellyco gives out some good deals to forum members. There is also the used path...I got my at pro used for $350.
