Long day,, doing lots of stuff around the house. Then l spent an hour and a half showing my neighbors how to use a metal detector. My neighbor and his wife, Lori are hooked. Lori located a clothes line and ended up with 5 wheat pennies and a 1956 Roosevelt Dime. I think I created a monster.

Took my 9 yr old to the permission I mentioned earlier. This place is awesome....guy was cool....this was like a really wealthy estate back in the 1800's and is a huuuuuuge brick house. Guy gave us a tour of the place and it goes way up to a lookout room at the top...daughter was loving this place. So during the Civil war the guy living here stole all the gold from a local bank and it was never recovered!!! Daughter is hooooked. We hit it for an hour and found one 1919 Merc. This place has been detected before....lol.

Down side is this place is loaded with homemade square nails and has been hit pretty hard....very few high tones. The dime was reading 82 on atp....but had a nickel sound with it. Pop the plug daughter yells it's a ring.... (shot gun shell) but right next to the shell was the merc....nice. she was running around....it was cool. Love this sport/hobby
