Greetings! I am just getting started in this hobby and looking to network with some others in this field and in Colorado. I have always had an interest in this. Since I moved to Denver from Michigan in late 2019 for work, I haven't got out as much as I've wanted to until this year. I do not have a metal detector just yet. I bought a few books on where to go but trying to navigate the areas I am allowed to search. Are there any groups that meet up for beginners? Or anyone that just wants to meet up sometime for some treasure hunting? Any book recommendations? I currently work in the water industry. Went to school for chemistry (engineering) and metallurgy. I have interests in geology, astronomy and cooking. And I just want to get out and do all the things i love in nature!

Welcome to the site and keep following the stories that unfold here on treasurenet and the ideas you seek will begin to start pouring in. There's many places to get out and explore here in Colorado for treasure of many types. This time of the year isn't really the best to get out and about though. 🥶

Welcome Aboard! Take a look at FORUM: COLORADO for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome neighbor. Check out our local club called Eureka Treasure Hunters Club. They have lots of ways to get involved with detecting. Good way to get started and meet some other folks doing the same. I've never been a member but know several members and run into them out enjoying. Some of the members do a weekly meet up at a different park, school or even possibly private property invites.
Ground is frozen right now. :(

Welcome from North Carolina!
