New at this. I found some maps drawn and stuck in an old Desert mag

TreasureTales, you are a gem... I so appreciate your kind words, thank you!
I agree with you Cptbil, they are changing the maps, and old ones are more precious.
I have been collecting 'old' maps for quite a while, with an eye toward old Desert and National Geo maps. Or any old fishin' maps. They knew maps.
I have my own idea's on the change in maps, its startling when you compare maps from 50-60 yrs ago, to the ones today... but hey, its probably a conspiracy and I'm not in on it.
LOL

I know where you can "View" some really old Topo & Mining maps/surveys :tongue3:
AND!
I'm NOT! Talking 40s-50s :icon_scratch:
I'm talking OLD! :o
LMAO Ok Cptbil...are you going to share?

Gossamer:
Doc & I have finally, decided on a departure date ( Maybe! :tongue3: )
But!
Here's a bit of info you might want to try out
If there's someone on this "Forum" that you'd like to know more about
JUST!

Go to that person's "Profile" and "Check" that person's "Posts" :icon_sunny:
"My" (Cptbild&/Cptbil) "Posts"
Starting from "my!" day one!
& include hundreds/thousands of posts for both Id's! :tongue3:
As you "read" thru those...
OF!
That person's posts should give you an idea of the personality, knowledge, experience, etc of that person

Gossamer
There's a canyon way, way over on the east side of The Superstitions
That's fairly easy to get to, once you get over there
AND!
That is something to see & hear
If you ever wanted to make a documentary, that'll be the place
These "Events" happened over a period of TWO NIGHTS
AND!
Were!
Witnessed by THREE! experienced outdoors persons
Really spooky! ,
Believe ME!
&
In this canyon, there is also, a perfect cliff dwelling
It is on my present trip's list ..... I don't have an exact date, yet!
Sometime coming fall/winter

Cptbil
That sounds like an interesting place! Thank you for the heads up!
Janiece

Is that pistol still there? :)

djui:

I'm SO! confident that it IS!! :tongue3:
I am willing to bet a :coffee2: that it is there !!!!!

Wanta go along and "we'll" have a look ?? ;Dan

AND!
Ms Gossamer can "document" IT's recovery !!

(It should be about/between, 1/2 to 1/4 mile behind the "Cliff Dwelling") :icon_scratch:

djui, ah come on... the only request I have is that we go when the weather won't flash fry us.
CptBild, I'll be taking notes and pictures... but a camera crew won't be with me... I have to scout the site.
Janiece

Well that is why I was asking. I can't just pick up any day and head out in the mountains. I work a lot :) Plus I need a solid date and time from Bill. He has a lot of "delays".

AND!
I have another (Delay!) coming up! :tongue3:
The Hurricane that is about to make "landfall", ("Dolly"!)
Is going to "Flood" us in !
The road into my place goes down and thru an old river channel, 1/2 mi wide
The River, The Nueces, will over flow it's banks and into the old
channel
AND!
We'll be flooded in, by up to 5-6', over the road leading in !
AND!
We have been flooded in for up to 4! Weeks!
That means,
ALL STOP! :o (no working on the Jeep)
Until, I have all the food for the livestock and domestic animals bought and stored
About two/three "pick up" loads
Plus,
In case the electicity goes out, which is THE! Norm!
I have to have food, water, gasoline (for the water well(s) and generators) for 2-4 weeks, for those of us "Humans" !
How long will it be ?? ???

I just finished , unloading & storing, a "PU" load of "feed" (25, 50 lbs bags=1250lbs ) that I bought last night :tongue3:
I am headed right back out in a few minutes to get more !
Then, "We'll", Hanna & I, will have to find time to "shop" for us!
Making sure that we have full tanks (3-250 gallon) of Propane
THAT'S! Going to cost a few more "BUCKS" ! :tongue3:
See You'll later !

LOL... well that answers that question...
djui5, you're in Mesa aren't you, did the micro burst hit you... hope not, I hear it was a 'humdinger' (is that a word). And this visit to the site would have to be well planned, that is the most important thing.
cptbild good luck on the prep's for the flood, batten the hatches.

Close, I'm in Apache Junction now. Didn't get the mirco burst but Monsoon season has been dropping some serious rain on the valley this year. I love it ;D
