Hello all!

I'm from Brazil and I'm here to learn about metal detecting.

I'm 27 years old, and I need help...

I'm a curious... I bought an Garret Ace 250 here in Brazil one year ago trying to find my father's treasure (some jewelry buried for about twenty years)... But the area that I have to look so much trash, many metals, wire and old things buried and surface... So, this Garret Ace 250 became a nightmare in my life!(lol) It whistles for anything!

Now I'm here to start a "professional search", with professionals tools and with concepts... because I'm a zero at this area...

This trasure isn't too deep. I know that... It isn't more than 1 meter depth.

But, how I sad before, this land is so complicated...

And looking for an professional metal detector at web, I found the Minelab CTX 3030. And some directional metal detectors from Mineoro, like F90 from Brazil.

So, I think I will buy the CTX 3030... Sugestions are really welcome, please!!

Thanks and best regards!!

Gold jewelry will probable hit in the junk range ,save your money if it your land/yard get a big shovel and dig everything

Wow, did not know that ... So will not help invest in a CTX 3030?

Jump over to SubForum: Minelab and do a search on CTX 3030...

Welcome! There isn't a detector that will see through surface junk very well. Some do a decent job of it but nothing to brag about. I would start by using the detector you have and dig every target, to get rid of them if nothing else. If you still can't find the deep cache you seek, get a detector that has a large coil option.......something in the 15" or bigger range. The CTX3030 would be an excellent choice as is the E-trac, White's V3i, etc. Another option, if it's a large deep target, is a 2 box unit such as the White's TM808. If you need hands-on help, I have a contact in Rio that might be able to help you. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! I will check this model. It isnt a large deep, its something arround 1 meter. But I think that its a medium size pack, like 30m x 15cm in a PVC pipe.
The PVC pipe can be a troubble for a metal detector? I dont think so, but I will ask it anyway. Lol

At the metal detection brazilian forum they sugested a Garrett GTI 2500. What do you think about this model?

Sure, I want your contact in Rio. PM me, please.

PM sent......1 meter is pretty deep for most detectors even with a large coil unless the target is also big. The PVC will be no problem.

Nice.. Its a medium size treasure like I sad... So, I'm looking for the Notka GoldenGate 3d. It looks like to be a excellent trasure hunter. Am I right? It will show the find's size and deep, right?
