Today I heard from my firend at City Hall. He gave me tacit permission to shallow water hunt a city lake that use to be an old swimming hole from 1908 until 1955! There use to be a park, zoo, and swimming beach there that attracted thousands of people from several counties. Has not been detected, at least the water portion as no wading has been allowed until now. He said it was ok with parks dept and would only need ok of city manager which shouldn't be a problem. I have a deal with the curator of the City Museum to donate any artifacts but I get to keep everything else. I am saving this one for next spring. This is not a good place to cool off as the water is polluted with those darn Canadian geese that have taken up residency in the past few years. They are nasty critters! I was having a hard time finding a place to detect....well, a good place but I have struck pay dirt recently including a several block area where an improvement corridor is being built over the next two years. No idle time for me I'm afraid and glad all at the same time. Monty
P.S. Didn't go out today for the first morning in a long time. A cool front came in with a rush, 40 mph sustained wind from the North and temps falling into the 20s. Hard freeze tonight but it could be 80 again by tomorrow aftrnoon. That's the way the winter time weather is here.
