I was out digging in a new section of woods near my home. The day started off very well with a 1883 Seated Liberty dime, followed by a very worn 192? Merc about two hours later. Just as I was getting ready to call it quits, I got a faint, but good sounding, repeating signal on my AT-Pro. One over-sized plug later, out pops the smallest coin shaped object I've ever seen. At first I thought it was a cuff button...turned out to be a 1852 three cent piece. Nice to have a day like this before the season grinds to a halt. HH

Great find silvermonkey! That is such an unusual piece of American coinage. It is the only one that to me looks almost pagan.

Cheers, happy thanksgiving

Ken

Congratz! That is a bucket lister for sure! Also, that trime is in awesome condition!

Congrats on the great silver day, especially the trime! Next time maybe a 2 cent piece will be in the hole!

Congrats on pulling those 3 keepers. It's nice to see that trimes are still being dug. It gives me hope that there is one out there with my name on it.

Beautiful finds! I've only gotten one 3 cent piece in the past and it was toast.

Mercury Dimes are among my favorites. Seated anything is a special moment. A Trime is almost unheard of.
Congrats on an incredible hunt.

Congrats on the awesome finds!! I didn't think we Mass-hunters had any of those 3 cent silvers around- that's means there's hope for me after all!

I've been hunting for one of those for years and never have had any luck on pulling one. Looks like your trime is in really good shape.

got my '52 in spring of 2014 with the ace250 at 8" down next to a nail. did you get a VDI #, or too weak to show? my guess would be high 70's on the ATPro with a little bounce
