Never know what's in with the potaoes in the Netherlands

Been detecting a newly harvested potato field here in the Netherlands. Most of the stuff has been from the 16th and 17th century. And then this pops out. Anybody recognize anything on the coin/token. I think the "E" looking symbol is the key. I'm guessing somewhere about 11th century and somewhere in central/southern Europe.

Thanks,

Daryl

Re: Never know what's in with the potaoes in the Netherlands

Hi guys and girls,

I'm finally back online. Not sure if you think that is a good thing or not. ;D

I got an ID on the coin. It is a 1197 coin of Willem I van Holland, the Earl of Friesland (1195-1213), a province of in the Netherlands.

What gets me is the value. If perfect it has a retail value of $100. As is with the crack in the edge - 40 bucks. :'(

Thanks for all the help.

Daryl
