Needing more info about Button find....

I found this awhile back in PA. I was detecting an old 1901 building that i later found out use to be an old school. I know its an Infantry button but thats about all i know. The backmarking and loop are all there. Its a bit hard to read what the backmark reads all the way. If need be i can try to read some of the letters for the backmark. This again was found in greensburg PA. Thanks for any and all info. HH

Looks like a eagle infantry button, might be civil war. Backmark is the key, if you can read it there are sites to find the date of the button. Nice find Pete

look slike an egeal A button not really 100% postive if its an A but i am positive that its civil war period by the eagle on it the position of the shiled and the arrows and wheat tell me that its civil war period

change this to precivil war mexican war
