I don't know the correct name or the tec. name but I have 2 lights that are controlled by a switch that allows you to dim or brighten them. Not sure how the 120v to 12v will work. Any good store for electrical stuff should be able to help you. Good luck.

Look for controls for a 12V variable speed controller. Google it there are quite a few. This one might work for you

Didn't know you had two threads on the same subject...

Here's my reply from the other thread:

Hi Brad,

What you need is a 12v rheostat that can handle the current of your
drywasher motor. This should handle the job nicely.

Just remember to look at what wattage your needing to run this at full bore ! to small of a wattage will burn it up on you! When I looked for a electrical part (like your needing ) I always got more wattage than I needed to keep it from burning up !

Here ya go.
This subject came up in Feb. Do a search on this site for the full thread.

Use a pwm, it's better for the motor than a dimmer switch.

Just copy and paste this in ebay search

I have purchased 6 of the motor control units 6v-12v-24v on ebay I have not had any issues but shipping time, I put 2 on my VW's wipers ( 55 bug 6v wiper motor with 12v battery , 74 Thing ) I also have one on my bellows drywasher & my desert dredge , when I purchased them they were $3.89ea with the new china deal I think they cost about $6.00ea , If you want to see it work look under " I want to make a vacuum fed drywasher" my video is on the last page bottom.
