Hi all.? Funny thing happened today.? I was hunting a high school football field and was deep in thought about the fact that I had dug about 80 rings this year (mostly from sports fields) but had never found the coveted Class Ring.? My next signal was this beauty.? I was thrilled.? I felt like I had passed yet another milestone in my first year of detecting.? Finally, I would join the elite club of "ring returners".? Upon returning home & spending a couple of hours on the internet, I realized that I didn't have a clue how to go about doing this.? I couldn't even nail down the school!? To top it off, the year on the ring is 2015!!!? Wouldn't that make this kid about 8 years old.? So as usual, when I'm in over my head, my thoughts turn to the sages on Treasurenet.? Any and all help would be appreciated.? Oh, BTW, I also found a 925 silver ring and about $6.00 in clad.? Keep swingin' ~CO2 ;D

Thanks everybody for weighing in on this ring.? I think Vic910, Calico Jack, & Nevrdun are the "guess" winners though.? With the leads PBK provided me with, I ended up at E-bay and found a seller that had 10 various class rings, all with the 2015 date.? Here's a link if you want to look: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=2015+class+rings Wrote him and asked why they were dated this way and he answered that he didn't know! ::)? I'm in agreement that for demo purposes, this would be one way of keeping these rings from being too desirable to would be thieves.? Guess some criminals are too "dumberer" to understand that.? BTW, I found this ring right between the goal posts, on the surface in deep grass.?
Rtde 3, thanks for the compliment but understand that the 80 rings include about 30 junk rings too.? Only 5 gold and the rest silver.? Still looking for the one that's going to pay for my new DFX.? ;D ~CO2

Call me crazy or lazy but one would think the logical place to look would be all schools named Hamilton within say one hundred miles. It's "possible" it came from half the world away but odds are stacked in favor of 100 miles or there abouts.

Also, that "Jason" on the side?? Now THAT's unusual! You sure it's a persons name? I ask because if it is, how do you put a longer name maybe like Barbara or Matthew in that small a space??

I'd check with the local school and ask for a list of schools in the 100 mile area named Hamilton and/or schools with green & white school colors.

Interesting point. I checked on it. Josten's has a pretty cool flash deal where you can design a ring, and it allowed for up to ten alphanumerics on the side there. It just condenses the letters.

Nice Colorodo. Good Luck with your new unit also. That's a weird class ring with the date and all.

Good Luck Jer

Went shopping at Wal-Mart in Kingman AZ this week and found your "ring". The KEYSTONE class ring company had a display at the jewelry counter with that same ring . The students name on one side and 2015 on the other . Definately that's a sample ring that you found .

Looks to me like it's part of a demonstration or sample set from the sales representative? Monty

Thanks for the confirmation Paratrooper. I'd already resigned from the search and added the ring to my collection, but it's nice to know it can just be purchased over the counter and not someones heart ache. Geronimo~CO2 ;D

Here's a question I just thought of and couldn't find an answer in previous posts...demo ring or not...is that ring gold or fake gold??
