Hi all.? Funny thing happened today.? I was hunting a high school football field and was deep in thought about the fact that I had dug about 80 rings this year (mostly from sports fields) but had never found the coveted Class Ring.? My next signal was this beauty.? I was thrilled.? I felt like I had passed yet another milestone in my first year of detecting.? Finally, I would join the elite club of "ring returners".? Upon returning home & spending a couple of hours on the internet, I realized that I didn't have a clue how to go about doing this.? I couldn't even nail down the school!? To top it off, the year on the ring is 2015!!!? Wouldn't that make this kid about 8 years old.? So as usual, when I'm in over my head, my thoughts turn to the sages on Treasurenet.? Any and all help would be appreciated.? Oh, BTW, I also found a 925 silver ring and about $6.00 in clad.? Keep swingin' ~CO2 ;D

Dosn't it Say Around the Stone What School ?

What EMBLEMS on Sides ?

Sorry you guys....I told you I didn't have a clue ??? It says Hamilton High but there isn't one in Colorado. I found one in Kansas, California, Arizona and Wisconsin. The emblem seems to be generic. A torch with a feather on one side and a scroll on the other. The kids first name is on the outside of the ring. On the inside it says MASTER GP (gold plate), and PREP. There is a color panel on the side of the ring with school colors. Green and white. None of the school web sites I hit had information beyond national test scores etc. I thought I could figure out which school based on the school colors but none mentioned these. I'll try and get more pics up momentarily. Thx~CO2

I've never seen a pre-dated class ring before.
Nice find!
Try checking at the school where ring was found. (If it was a high school ball field).
Unless there are initials on the ring, you may have a hard time finding the owner.
Don't make the mistake of giving the ring to the school with the intent that they will return it to the owner.

This is going to be one of those interesting stories that keeps up going. You sound like you're on the right path though. Hope you have good luck!

Happy Hunting!

Won't do that BK. ?Want to hand it to somebody named Jason that can ID it. ?I think the pre-date is really wierd too. ?It was the first thing I noticed especially because this ring fits me. ?Of all my ring finds, it's one of only about 4 rings that I could put on my finger. ?So, here's some better pics Jeff and Gigi. ?Now about 10,000 people can ID it ;D ?Thanks~CO2

Jeff!!!!! How the H E double hockey sticks do you do that? What kind of search provides school colors? Did you go to school there or are you just psychic? ???

Non-gold or gold-plated year 2015 class rings turn up on eBay now and then, usually in the $35-50 "Buy it Now" range. Here's a fairly similar one listed there right now:

"MASTER" is one of the private-label class ring brands of AAC (American Achievement Corporation). They also sell "ARTCARVED" brand rings, like the one above on eBay. For more info about AAC, see:

Thanks PBK! That was a great help. Maybe all the sentiment I thought was tied up in this ring isn't real. I think I'll just try the lost and found route at the school. Too much pressure in this "return a ring" program. From now on when I find a class ring I think I'll just throw it back ;D

;D CO2 Hey, you know no one will hold it againest you if you keep it ... yes its nice to give back and make someones day/year. Knowing maybe they have had it lost a long time, thinking they may never get their ring back. But this is a really weird one and I can't say even though it a nice looking ring their out much. So to me if you try to find the owner and can't within a reasonable time frame and effort. No one will think less of you for it. I'm sure! ;D ;) The ring I returned had a name in it, and I knew the owner had owned my home before me. So I had a place to start..I search the obituary ads to see if I could find a address or anything. I know sounds weird lol. But I did find out who he was related to and that he would still live in my town or close by. I called where he used to work since he was a retired cop. And they tracked him down knowing why I wanted to find him. So for me there was enough to follow. But with just a first name and a future date and school colors. You may not be able too. Or it may just be more fun helping you find it for all on the forum! ;D
Thanks for posting more on the ring. Sorry to make you feel like it showed it to everyone and that anyone would try to claim it unfairly. :(

Gigi ;D

Also try
www.jostens.com

They are one of the largest suppliers of class rings for schools. They have a section on their web page to locate a sales rep in your area. Get a hold of that person and see if they lost it while at the school.

Good Luck!!!!

I'm thinking Vicki is probably right about it being a demo ring.

Picture this. ?Ring salesman visits a school to sell rings to the next batch of students. ?He sets up his folding table, puts out his brochures and order forms, and opens his case. ?He talks to a bunch of students and allows them to look at his display rings, try them on, and examine possible characteristics for their own ring. ?Deluged with buyers, he is unable to keep track of which demo ring is where. ?At the end of the day, he closes his demo case, frustrated that there is an empty space where a demo ring used to be, and muttering about the thieving kids these days who have no respect and so on.

Jimmy has a new ring in his pocket. ?He thought it was pretty cool, and it was free since that ring salesman wasn't even looking at him. ?It doesn't really fit, and further, Jimmy doesn't go to a Hamilton High and isn't named Jason. ?He can't very well wear it, lest someone notice it. ?He wouldn't know how to go about selling it, and would probably have a tough time finding a buyer who didn't ask questions. ?None of his friends want it. ?So Jimmy discards the ring in the grass, kind of hoping it finds its way back to the salesman.

At least, that's what I think might have happened.
