Well havent been on the board here for abit,
But I Need as much info aspossible on a certin location ----


Upstate NY Cobelskill,Warnersville,- Klock's Field Cache!.....
Im pretty much OK'ed to search,but no real info about serious location can be found by me.......

I have pretty much free roam of the old "STROBECK" land,or any info about the Strobeck house where they threw a Tory in the fire place would be 100% appreacated and maybe we will put an end to this tale.........or any other tales from the area I stated above!......

This is a serious posting,.........so any info please........lol,.......

PS- already have a 75/25 split from the land owner of Klocks.......but the right info/point in direction might help your pockets out.......

not from up that way but did ya try doing any research from the clerks office? back history , old newspaper reads,etc...locla library here held alot of info on areas, try your local library..gregg..HH

so much research that i have a book of info but really no help at all,......i just want to know if other have herd tales that i havent or differnt location/spots or even other tales in that area,places like Stone Arabia and such,or where the old fort sites were.....


As for my local Historical socitey--- bah!!!! - they are more interested in thier own family/family's name and wealth than the rich history of this area...not gonna go into that any further though.,lol

I like to research alot then go out,also weather here is tooo muggy and humid for me,......but ya always get looks,or the "find any thing with your geiger counter?":my reply- ya urainium....lol,....J/K.....\\

Try in the Recorder of Deeds office in the county seat. Recorded Deeds are public record. The deed may show the house location.

thx for the reply,---we already have the orig deed,which is on old cured deer or cow hide,this is how old the one house is.

we are going to search the dirt basement and also open up the orig fireplace which the tory was thrown in to look for a false bottom,........

Try the old maps at the Library of Congress. Maps made by a guy named Martenet are the greatest. They have the names of the land owners next to the location of their house, as wells as locations of the local mills, blacksmith, wheel wright, etc... I know, I have quite a few for counties in Maryland, I don't nkow if he did any for New York state. Check him out. Good luck and remember my name!

No Prob---- info aswell as the weather is hindering huntin,......


Quite afew sites to hunt that way,lots of storys aswell!..........PM me ....asap if possible.......

Im gonna be lookin at a few sites/huntin at places that my Mothers side of the family defended aganist the french/Indians and the british since The German Palintines landed up in Cobleskill back in 1700....,theres celler holes everywhere at STN.ARB.,Also afew of the fort sites can be accesed!////////....its the I-Castles that are imposible to find......

Cobleskills a great place to hunt. I live fairly close by and have permission to search an old field their. I've heard from locals that their is a constant flow of detectorists doing the area. I also no that this guy bob lavoy, whos retired and spends a good deal of his time detecting the area. He's quite popular this fall he has a pilot on the outdoor channel about treasure hunting. Any ways if you go to the northeast metal detectors association website you can find his number and i'm sure he could tell you more than any one else, he has alot of great connections and his own metal detector store.

its kinda a hush hush/info.....it took alot of reading/researching to learn about the tale...,i did give one name of a landowner though if anyone wants to follow it up...,me im gonna wait some to hit up afew spots due to the jungle like growth and swarms of ticks and bugs....,also harvest hasent been rounded up out there where im hittin up...
