I think you found that CS Tongue without a pinpointer. You've seen me handle a pinpointer so you know, what operator error looks like in action. I could have the smartest pinpointer in the world and make both it and myself look stupid

I detected over 20 years without a pin pointer......because there weren't any! Got my first one ( a Tiny Tec) in 1991 or so and now never leave home without one. It can make recoveries so much faster.

It was user error. I decided to read the instructions on how it works. Lol
