These are my 2 founds on my first day of metaldetecting, found on the same place in Belgium (10m from each other)
1 button seems brons with a dot in the middle
1 coin very very thin I think copper but with no readings so far

I just cleaned them gently with some water

does anyone know the age and origin of these finds? 20130706_234500.jpg20130706_234254.jpg20130706_234513.jpg20130706_234716.jpg20130706_234732.jpg20130706_234747.jpg20130706_234805.jpg20130706_234817.jpg20130706_235105.jpg

many thanks

I have found about 15 of these same buttons and have had a problem id'ing them. What state are you in?

Sorry, just saw where you are located. I know it's a flat button but I don't know the origin of them.

:hello:

If your button is cast one piece, these type can date back to the 16th-17th century. But yours looks to be later. No idea on the coin.

I Can Id One Of Your Finds. That Button Is A ''nipple'' Button. They Are Quite Old. Older Than Many Flat Buttons. A Simple Search Should Do You Good.

It is a nipple button (17th century maybe) thank you ATpro5 and all the others for the id and info ,i'm really excited about my find!

The coin i'm not sure, it looks like a British George 4th Halfpenny but my coin has no edge.....
