My buddy hound this at a homesite. He is asking for help narrowing it down. I'm sure it's a columbian expo item, but what exactly. It's very thin stamped copper. Only on one side. Has a hole.

Pictures columbus bust slightly left
Appears to have date of 1493? Right of the hole
Close to the size of a quarter

I think instead of Columbus that is meant to depict the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilianus/Maximilian I.

Maybe it was was part of a button and then pierced after it came off the button face? I'm not sure what it was designed to be...

Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elected King of the Romans 16 February 1486 in Frankfurt-am-Main at his father's initiative and crowned on 9 April 1486 in Aachen, Maximilian also stood at the head of the Holy Roman Empire upon his father's death in 1493.

Here are some links to items with the a similar looking image and the 1493 above---

Well I gotta say you nailed the ID
It looks very similar.
