#1 is from a badge of the Sons of Union Veterans, an organization for male descendants of Union veterans of the Civil War:

#2 is an identification tag. These were sold in stores and catalogs, and stamped with the individual's name and address (usually just city & state). Although many do date from the 1800's, the same design was made and sold well into the 20th century. Here's an ad from the late 1920's, showing a similar tag:

It is nice talking to you today BK. I like this unlimited free long distance calling i got here in Billings. After company goes i might go check that spot out i seen today. If not, why not a night hunt for my first Montana hunt.
