Need help with US belt buckle

Pick this up recently but can’t really tell if it’s real or fake can anyone help me out and for future reference is let me know what to look for thank you

Check out Harry Ridgeway's site. He has a section on fakes and reproductions. Kinda looks a little funny to me

Looks like a re-enactors plate to me.

The little facets on the belt hook indicate it is a real one. All the repros I have seen have flat belt hooks. I have oned over thirty varieties of these and this one looks OK.
