You have found some killer points and blades. Awesome. The last pic you have is a nice drill, to bad the tip is missing but a keeper in any fashion. Curious if you are hunting plowed fields or rock dwellings.

The drill came from a plowed field. I hunt creeks , river banks, rock shelters & anywhere that I think is a good spot. I love the out doors , I am a true county girl.

Looks like you are getting a nice collection going. Welcome back.

nice to see some w va points,i was born there and used too help my family work at gunnoes sausage there.id keep hitting those river and creek banks.thanks for the peek and i like that black scraper

As for the original piece - I don't think a person could call it anything more than a preform or a biface (with accuracy). There is no way you can associate such a piece with a certain time period, unless found in direct correlation with a known type.

I always called It a preform also , but Was not sure. I will posts some pics of points I have found in an around the place i found it. Maybe that could help with dating the piece. It is big and heavy enough to maybe be a preform for a knife, due to its shape , but i am no expert so what do I know. Any and all Info helps . Thanks

Do you metal detect too? Free lessons available. My Dad was born in West Virginia and was a Navy guy in WWII. I find Native American things too. Have a great Day!View attachment 732511

That is a practical joke that gets pulled quite often. Don't fall for it. However, I think this cat was just wanting to know if you medal detect. Do not think he was associating it with native American artifacts. Happy hunting!!
