Hi, my son bought me my new ace 350, the problem is i cant seem to get the hang of the machine. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! Been to the beach , the parks etc., I have spent a good deal of time (hours) with this machine and I can do better with my $75 bounty hunter. So what can I be doing wrong??? Any suggestions would be appreciate I will give it another week and then its going back. Also I am goiong to contact another detector in the artea and maybe he can teach me or show me what I am doing wrong. Till another time, you all take care and happy hunting!!

Hard to trust new unit?. You read manual and tested it?. Try jewelry mode, sens 2 or 3 notches below top of scale. Iron will be low tones, yes discriminated out but still audible. Test on objects before field use. Jumpy i.d.s lower sens a bit. Hope it goes better. I,ve enjoyed the 350. Nothing against b.h. but it is different as a unit. Where is your biggest challenge with ace?.

I recently made a new change from my Bounty Hunter (F75) and thought I had bought a broke machine. You have a lot more machine in your hands and it is talking to you. While there is many videos on youtube which I pour over at least once a week. Just try turning the sensitivity way down. Is there a factory preset? I had set my machine on high gain by accident and it would not settle down. Also you mention two very different environments. I like all metal when I can make it work. Is the machine falsing, or are you concerned about the readout on the screen? I dont really pay attention to screen readouts, I dig all good signals. Sounds like a confidence issue and you just need to tame that wild beast lol.

Hi have you tried putting in a test garden.. Just dump a few spare coins and maybe some junk in a plot at say 4" and then scan over them to see what you get. Also the longer that the coins stay in there and more they react to the soil the better. I buried some old battered coins that I found over time. I didn't bother cleaning them so the "patienter" was defiantly intact :).. I still use that plot even now to test out machine and coils.. Use it as a sort of "base line".. Well best of luck.. Wish I had an F75 :)
