Need help with button

I tried to take a picture but my camera isn't very good and I never could get a good picture. I'm going to try and desribe it and try to get a photo when I find a better camera. The button is 24MM and has an eagle with a shield on the front. On the back it says "THE ?in CO." "PROVIDENCE, R.I." The button was found at an old house place. I tried to find something on this button company but I haven't found anything on it. Any help would be appreciated and I will try to get a picture tomorrow.

Does your find look like the button shown below? If so, it's a U.S. Army "Great Seal" general service button, c. 1902-present.

I'll see if I can identify the manufacturer and maybe narrow the date range a bit. It's probably WWI-WWII.

Maybe, The Austin Co. Providence R.I.

No idea on the date range though.

I bet your right on The Austin company because it looks like it starts with an A and ends with the TIN but I can't make out the other 2 letters. Thanks for the help.

That is it. Thanks so much for the help. I searched and tried to figure it out, but wasn't having much luck and you guys nailed right off the bat. I didn't expect to find anything like this. I found a small ring with it so I'll probably hunt this site some more. Thanks again for everyones help.
