Hello all like the title says would like to see if anyone knows what this button is and how old it might be. I dug it about a week ago. Thanks for looking and helping if you can.

Telling us WHERE you dug the button might provide a clue.

Funny how we all see something different. I see a knight on horseback holding a sword in back of his head. :D

I give that a chance. (Can see part of the horse's head)

oh yeah, sort of see it. So could be Military after all. Seen similar Horse back riders with swords.

Probably not, the vast majority are civilian.

The best that is military, is probably C. Light Dragoons, but the one above is not.

PS... I also have a very cool horse and rider button. I posted it several years ago but many people didn't seem to see what I see... what was very to me. I'm pretty sure it was just a matter of them not having an eye for buttons/detail. I'll post it in a bit.

No, the one, I'm trying to remember is a pewter (not lead) Duke Of Wellington (I think, but not sure, Duke of :icon_scratch: ), but it had writing on top & bottom & horse & rider with sword in middle. Quite rare but nothing like this.

It was the decorated edge which made me think Civilian at the start.

Your lead button has a clear horses head but the rider is a little more difficult to see. :icon_thumright:

I believe I have seen a larger pewter with the Duke of Wellington. It would be similar to the smaller more common brass ones marked Waterloo.
