It's abut the size of a quarter, fairly thick and I believe is made of lead, so it's most likely a seal. Byzantine? Any help appreciated. gr1.jpggr2.jpg

Where was it found? (looks mid to late 19th century to me)

Ligature Seal, CM PZ
Ligature Seal, CM PZ, Image by StuE, Found by Paul Hewett.
Found in Essex, 23mm, 12.7g.

A merchant mark design on one side consisting of a figure 4 with an extended leg crossed by a second bar and leading down to a large heart enclosing the letters C and M in circles that incorporate the top curves of the heart and the letters PZ near the pointed bottom of the heart. The other side has the depiction of a bunch of grapes.

Possibly connected to the wine industry.
