Need help on this button and gun lever?

Hunted on base today, got this button i would like to know more about? On the front it says U S A in between 2 stars. Smaller than a dime too.

Maybe an old gun lever? Any info would help!

as per todays finds, the hammer to an old cap gun, I have had a few.

The button is definitely a World War One era US Army uniform-pants button, made of zinc. They came in two sizes. The larger size said US ARMY (with two stars), and was for the pants waist-closure. You found the smaller size, which says USA (with stars), which was for the pants fly-closure. See photos below.
