Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can ID these rocks. They were found by my mother in law in the Farmington River in Ct. I think they’re weathered sandstone. She says they’re clay formations.

Your mother-in-law is pretty much correct. They're 'mudstone' concretions, often formed in fine-grained sedimentary deposits and usually carbonate cemented.
