I think I saw it somewhere too, maybe while searching Chinese cash coins. I will search for it. I think its a charm.

Well I would go to a online foreign coin dealer and send the photos to them they can give you a idea time line and country...I have never seen one with a triangle...its in great condition I would love to see the value. If you would like I will research it and pull some strings with my dealer friends with the pictures you supplied. Up to you.

Yes, welcome stormgazr. I think I found it.Its a brass Chinese machine struck token. http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=3611

The coin you asked about is inscribed CH'IEN LUNG T'UNG PAO (Qian Long Tong Bao). This inscription is copied from cash coins of Emperor Ch'ien Lung (ruled 1736-1795), but the triangular hole piece was actually made in the 20th century using machinery. The reverse shows a dragon. This piece is believed to be a souvenir from one of the worlds fairs in the United States or from a Chinatown in the USA. Some believe it is from the St. Louis worlds fair of 1904; others think it is from the Pan-Pacific fair of 1914. The pieces are rare in the far east, but fairly common in the USA. I have at least a dozen for sale right now.

I have one exactly like that... had me stumped as it didn't show up in my chinese coin book. I knew there were many different contemporary replicas of the old cash coins but your info narrows it down nicely. HH, Mike.
