I'm curious now, think I have found one of those but don't feel like sorting through coppers. I've been aware of them for quite a while but the one I possibly have is so worn and un-interestesting I'm not 100% sure it really exists. :D

IP, also, I am certain I have seen one of these posted before, somewhere, just do not know where or when................It sure is familiar.......

The name was said to derive from "Sillebawbe", a part of the country where Archibald Orrock, a 16th century mint-master, was the laird.

Bawbees were issued between 1539 and 1697
Edited: The William and Mary image is of 'conjoined' busts (W&M)--facing left. These bawbees were issued between 1691 and 1694.
Another edit: The bawbees of 1695-1696 had only William's bust.
Great coin.
Don.....

An example with the crown — William & Mary bawbee, 1692:

Do you have a picture of William III? I think he had a crown as well. It would be handy to see the reverse?

Maybe because you were trying to ID one (or something close) only a month or so ago! :D I said I thought it was a bawbee but ended up being something else, or maybe I just had the king wrong. Not sure how it ended but you did find out.
