Hey guys I'm new to the forum this is my first post of probably many. I was out detecting a local park an ran across this. Was wondering if you guys could help me identify what I have. It looks to me like a bullet. Any info you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 20170921_170718.jpg20170921_170718.jpg20170921_170424.jpg20170921_170309.jpg20170921_170214.jpg

Not sure what weight measurements you have there but I am guessing - if found in the United States - it is likely a 0.32 caliber from, perhaps, a .32-40 cartridge.

Isn't that a henry-martini bullet?

The henry-martini bullet is a .577 caliber, while the one pictured is closer to .32 caliber. I tend to agree with Charlie, in US it's probably a .32-40.

Right measurement, but being all lead, no copper jacket, I tend to agree with Charlie, .32-40, which is a very old American cartridge.

Thanks everyone for all the posts! It's amazing how much knowledge you guys have. I'm not only new to the forum but also new to metal detecting. I haven't found much yet but I'll tell you I'm already hooked. Thanks again guys.
