Try holding them in your hand or using a better background color like outside. The table with the grainy look just throws your eyes. Maybe a black would help. They look like rocks. The one in the middle might be something but it is just to hard to see. Need front back and sides

Thank you! Much better. How thick is the first one>? Might be a flaked celt or hoe. How long is it? You got the pictures now we need the sizes.

Hard to tell what they are. They do look like artifacts, maybe broken, maybe just rough. For me I don't see enough to guesstimate an approximate date. welcome to the site and keep hunting!

The big one is 4 3/8 inches long. By 1 1/2 inches wide Its fairly skinny Thinner than an 1/8 inch thick

Could it be a old biface knife I've seen a lot that look like mine

Yeah could be a square knife.

I found these under small overhang everything I found was near the entrance except the big" knife" it was at very very back I had to belly crawl to it

What are tips at verifying age of artifact? I think these are really old .. What is your guess ?

Hey grobb,
Were they on the surface or did you dig for them?? If they were on the surface, I'd be digging that spot for sure.

Without a diagnostic artifact like a finished projectile point you can only guess at the age of your artifacts. If you find any pottery that will narrow it down some.. the type of temper in pottery can narrow it down more... also there is often evidence of several occupations overtime in shelters like that.
