As the title indicates I’d really appreciate any help with the identification of this figure
There’s not too much I know about it other than it is made of ivory and is plated with 24k gold at the top and bottom , it has this markings on the back as well , I’m guessing it is of Chinese origin? Looks almost religious to me

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Greetings from NY.

We have a lot of knowledgeable members on here and it sure would help them if you posted a picture or two. Any marking on this piece?

Anyway, welcome to TreasureNet. Glad to have you aboard.

Never heard of ivory being gold plated. Could be gold leaf applied though.
There were literally hundreds of thousands of different ivory figurines carved for trade over the centuries, everything from gods, goddesses, and emperors, to peasants.

Most genuine vintage ivory figurines are very valuable!
Please post some photos.

Feng Shui "laughing budda" figurine?

But an image sure would help.

This is kind of a curious mystery now :) I would be interested to see what those markings on the back are. Assuming it's chinese, if the markings are a set of 4 or 8 characters it could be a chinese idiom known in chinese as a 成语 chengyu.

There are a lot of Ivory laws in the US. You may not wish to sell it, even owning it and not turning it over to authorities could be breaking the law.
