Need help identifying old rim fire and button

Hello fellow diggers. I was hunting an old 1800s ghost town that went into 1900s with a few revivals. Found this bullet and button that I can’t identify. The button has no back marks and the shell has no marks either

Looks like a 32 short rimfire!

Maybe not since I got to compare them. Can you measure the diameter of the bullet? Looks a little larger than 32.

Comparing the size of the cartridge to your fingers, I'd say it might be a .41 short rimfire . These were used quite a bit in small single and double barrel pocket pistols from about 1870's until the early 1900's.

Those look closer in size to his than the 32! It didn't look right when I compared...good show!
