We just got back from a successful TH'ing/filming trip in Tennessee with writer/author Sid Witherington lll (this guy knows his history!).
There were a couple of buttons I brought home and cleaned and cannot find info on.
#1 - Coin Button: On back it reads Rogers Slocum & Co. New Orleans. I do not find this maker in my books. It was dug in a CW camp.
#2 - Larger than ususal button (23mm). I only found the back. The front was gone. The back is in very corroded shape and I can only make out parts of the back. What parts I can make out I BELIEVE say:
"C.R. Quality" There are more letters around the button but I cannot make a complete word. Other letters are possible "BUY..." or "BUI" I think its a "B" the "U" I can make out for sure.
Any help would be appreciated. I am very curious about the larger button back. I love a good mystery!
