I have no clue what to ask on craigslist for 2 diving items I found by the curb when a neighbor cleaned out her garage.
One is an air tank and the other what I think is the regulator.
Pics follow.

The first one is a tank for diving. Will get to that in a second. The second is gauges for a welder.

The tank. It might be good. You have to tell us the numbers on the top and the brand. If it is a Luxfer, the date stamp is very important. If it was made before 1988 it is scrap aluminum only. If made after that there is a possibility it is good. Most dive shops will not touch any tank made before 1990 that are stamped Luxfer.

All scuba tanks need to be hydro'ed every 5 years. You should see a two digit month stamp followed by two sets of smaller numbers and then a two digit year stamp along the neck.

The VERY first hydro is the most important one. It should have a two digit month stamp a diamond and then a two digit year stamp. If it is a Catalina tank it should be a good one to get tested.

I just bought my 13th tank two days ago out of hydro and paid 30.00 for it. I got a great deal. The welding gauges, I have absolutely no clue what they are worth and for sure have nothing to do with diving.

Thank you very much scubadetector, very good info. I'll check the particulars tommorow.
I got fooled by the welding valve cuz I know zip about diving with tanks.
I really need to get certified, I know several salvor captains who have offered me a spot on their next treasure outing for divisional coin comp. I have a fisher cz20.

I made an error. Not welding a cutting torch. Sorry.

The CZ-20 is a wonderful machine. Try not to ever use the pinpoint button so it never has to be made into a CZ-21 if it breaks. I don't think the CZ-21's get as deep as the CZ-20's. I had First Texas disable my pinpoint button. I know where it beeps and have no problem getting my targets.

I have a friend who's a welder, he should be able to help me with valuing the cutting torch valve.

You have a Smith oxygen regulator for an oxy-acetlyene cutting torch setup. Smith is some good stuff so you should be able to make a few bucks of it when you sell it

Thank you bigcaddy. My first real job was as a caddy at a NY country club. A 15 yrs old sometimes carrying 2 bags for 18 holes...the money was good tho"'.
