I recently picked up this piece which I feel has some considerable age due to the wear and patina. I'm suspecting that it is a snuff box as the wear indicates that it has been well used. I'm from England so assume it is an English piece but that is purely an assumption. There are no markings at all.

Does anyone have any idea of age on this piece? Can anyone confirm that it is most likely a snuff box? What metal is it made from? And does it look like an English piece?

Thanks in advance,
Shane

Looks like brass, definitely hand made, style-1700's, use ??? Consider it early folk art.

first off, we welcome you as a new member
I find your item fascinating
Looks like its copper stamped exterior with a silver tin lining
look hard for maker marks
seems a bit large for a snuff box
need size, weight
