So I decided I am going to spend a few bucks and upgrade from my MXT which I will be selling. I want to keep it under $1,000.00. I do a lot of beach but also land living here in the Treasure Coast of Florida. Headed to Kellyco in Orlando. What is the best MD for mostly beach BUT also land under $1,000.00? I have been focusing on the AT Max. Thoughts anyone? Truly appreciate your timely feedback.

AT Max is a great detector, but honestly the AT Pro is cheaper and only has a few differences that the price to me didmt make sense to go for the Max. Yes it is an amazing detector but like I said the difference between the two is not enough for the price gap.

I did well with the salty sand there with my CTX 3030, but that's over your budget. Next would be the Equinox 800, which is similar. Its waterproof and has really fast recovery.
But if you really want to find the DEEP and small stuff on the beach, go with a PI machine of some sort like the Whites TDI line. Most are way over your budget, but looking used may be a good way to save big money, especially this time of year.

Beach and land,....

Down by the wet sand?
Or just where people lay out in the sun?

I say a lighter weight machine because of the many hours it takes to search a beach.

I can't really recommend a machine I haven't used,........
and there are some good ones I haven't used or even tried.

I'll let the other guys recommend a current machine.

Something light weight, easy on batteries, good vision,......

Maybe one of the Turkish or Aussie machines.

This should be well within the budget Screenshot_20191206-093239.jpg

Aussie machines for sure! My GPX 4800 with 18" mono coil was easily hitting pennies and sinkers at 3 to 4 feet!

Get the Minelab Equinox 800 or 600, it will be by fare the best bang for the buck and the latest in metal detecting technology...

When I think beach I think Minelab. AT pro did terribly for me at the beach.

Just got back. Bought the Minelab Equinox 800. Spent over an hour discussing it with the techs at Kellyco. Excited to test her out later today. Reviews and tests I've seen via YouTube seem very positive. Thank you all for your input.

You made a good choice, now dig it all to get familiar with the different tones...

Wise move. I think you will like it. I am contemplating selling my Mxt and getting the 800.

If I may regardless of machine, learn the beeps and tones, plant some items in your ground and then go scan over them and get idea of the difference in sounds, waterproof are many , consider not like loyal brand users on here different names watch the video’s that are not selling or pushing the product. Yes minelab, even notka simplex amfibio, just watch get feedback no need to spend thousands, hope that helps

Is there a huge difference in the nokta anfibio vs the nokta anfibio multi?
