I have a very unique specimen that I would like to have polished. I have a very interesting porphyry that came out of the glacial till of one of the local gravel pits. At its largest angle the face is about 12 inches across. There are large and small phenocrysts containing numbers of minerals including Nepheline and Albite, both of which are fluorescent under a UV lamp. I have already cut the rock into "book-end" style display pieces but would really love to polish the display sides so if you know of anyone who can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. I live in Binghamton NY but am willing to do some travel to have this work done or even shipping if I need to, but that makes me nervous because these pieces are my babies haha. Also I plan on compensating for someone's time and wear and tear on their machinery.
