This item was found today. Besides some dirt, it came out of the ground as you see it. A U.S. nickel will just about cover the bow on top. Seems to be gold or gold plated. On the front of the locket it has a heart and what looks to be a Dogwood blossom. However, the blossom has 5 petals as opposed to 4 commonly found on the Dogwood. The pin clasp is of the "C-type". I rarely post finds but this one has stumped me. The item was found in the front yard of a house built around 1890. No marks (that I can see yet). Thanks guys. Keep your coils on the ground and keep reaching for the stars, lol.

don't guess I understand exactly what you're wanting to know. It's a locket brooch. At least from your pictures, it doesn't appear to be a precious metal such as 10k or 14k gold, but possibly plated. They've been around for well over 100 years, but I believe this one dates probably from the 1950's or 60's

Well, if you're anything like me, you want to know EVERYTHING about your finds. My main method is find out all you can about it all your finds; trash included. With proper research it leads to more treasures in the pouch. Thank you for your thoughts.
