Can someone tell me what this 2 1/2 cent coin is? Country? Estimated value?
It is hard to make out the date, but it looks like ??95 possibly. Is that possible?
An elderly lady I work with knows that I MD, so she brought in a small bag of coins to look at, that her father had. These were some of them:
silver dollars (1881 , 1922 , 1923)
Half dollars (1942 , 1951)
Quarter (1943)
Dime (1936)
V Nickle (1902)
The neatest one was a silver dollar that she said her dad carried around in his pocket daily for good luck. He had literally worn both sides off perfectly smooth over the years, and it was about 1/2 as thick as what it should be. There was not a hint of an image anymore on either side. I hope it wasn't a rare one! ;D
Thanks for your help,
MM

No idea of the value, but pretty sure it is from the Netherlands. I have one like it that is 1 cent and dated 1877. Manybe someone else can help you on more specifics.

Good call, 99Brown! It appears to be a Kingdom of the Netherlands 2-1/2¢ piece, bronze, c. 1877-1898.

MM! Cool find there... wtg!! And you said you never find coins? ;)

Nice quick ID too 99Brown!

Jim,
I didn't find it. A lady at work brought it in for me to look at along with others.
No 1804 silver dollars though. Darn. ;D
The only coins I find are laying in parking lots, and they are pennies. :(

Yes, this Dutch 2 and a half cent I think it is dated 1905 (I can see a "5" and they only made these either in 1905 or 1915). The value in the current condition is about $2

Happy Hunting!
