Neatest Find To Date: Another Update

Hey All!
I went out in the woods behind my house today(the same spot I've been finding mostly nails since I started detecting) and I found a bunch a stuff including more nails but today I also found a brass plate. ;D I didn't know what it was until I got in the house and cleaned it a little. I still have a couple of small things soaking in some evapo rust and will add pics of that stuff later.
Here is the brass plate. It may not be much to anyone else but I'm still happy about it. I hope that I can use this to help date the site as there are no structures.
It measures 2 3/4" X 5 1/4" and it's brass with copper rivets.

I will update it with a cleaner picture a soon as it gets cleaner.

Here's one of the other items I found. I think it has something to do with logging. It's about a foot and a half in length. This is the same site I have found all of those replaceable sawblade teeth.

Any info on these items will be greatly appreciated.

Well anyway, the brass plate to me is the neatest thing I've found so far. I hope everyone is having a great week.
Happy Hunting,
Ed

Thanks everyone fot the information and the comments! :) As always, you all have been a great help. Any thoughts on how to get the rest of the grit and grime off the brass plate? I went out back again today and found some more stuff. The coolest things I found today were a brass valve and some snaps that say SCOVILL MFG CO on them. Please check them out when you have a chance.

Thank you again and HH,

Great finds!!

I live near to where The Baldwin Locomotive Works was located. I'm wondering if there is a coincidence regarding Balwinsville and steam engines?
Anyone?
