Found this neat half dime while exploring a late 1700's home site here in NY. Looks to be a S engraved on it. The home on the site is abandoned and someone pulled the mantle away from the wall which opened a void in the wall behind the left and right side of the mantle..among other junk I found the half-dime.

Cool find, I love exploring old abandoned buildings too.

Whats interesting is that love token was a pendant at 1 time & then the hole filled in. I wonder why you would refill the hole?

Great love token... Keep up the good work

You found 2 things in one find that I have yet to find. Congrats.

Nice love token. That makes it more personal & attaches someone to the find.

Really cool Love Token. I wonder how it get behind the mantle. Since you found it in a house, I wonder if you can trace it to a previous person that lived there. Would be really awesome if you could.

Yep, I'm trying to track down ownership of the home...

No luck yet with the home research... heading back tomorrow for some more exploring. Didn't have much time last visit due to it getting dark.

Love me some love token. High on my and I imagine many others bucket list

Ruined the "value" of the dime but Made it neat and special. Very Nice find!

Actually, it probably increases it....love tokens sell for a lot more than an average circulated half dime, especially if there is a date.
