See picture 1 of the first game strip we did, it was a near blank with just 3 plain buttons & 1 very scrappy Roman Coin.
We were 3/4's of the way through the last game strip on the new farm & we were glad to see the Livery Button come out :P Thankfully the next couple of runs I had a nice Roman Follis & a hammered - pity its in poor condition as its a Durham mint of Edward IV :(

Being the :icon_sunny: :icon_sunny: :icon_sunny: ..est day this year & digging 4 hours with mostly rubbish was just about saved in the last 30 minutes :icon_thumright:

It's virtually impossible to get skunked in the UK. Your country is stuffed with goodies. Come for a holiday to Western Australia or NZ and don't forget to take your beeper with you ;D. You will soon learn the meaning of 'getting skunked'. Today I was happy to find a shilling of 1891 when my battery was almost flat. Then some teens came up to me to talk about detecting (they have some experience in beach-hunting). I was so tired that I muttered something not quite intelligible in reply to their question. And guess what. 'Are you English?' they ask me ;D
You replied - 'no because I would have found something better than an 1891 Shilling, if I was' :D

Seriously Vicky Silver would save my day as well. The issue we have is we have built high expectations via researching & finding good sites. Many, many fields have very little in them or only small pockets. We have just speed up the process of hitting the hotspots. But during this time of year we try anywhere as a punt.

I bet I could show you a thing or two about getting "skunked" in the UK, ask Cru :laughing7:

yes, some of your local land proves that not all fields are full of goodies.

The Livery button came late in the day as well, just before the Roman & Hammered. When Dad got it we were both pleased that at least we had something of note to take home. We are always pleased to get a design we haven't found before, which this is :) Adds to the collection of Livery's

Excellent finds!!

i am getting a stamp made..(well done cru.)..so i can just stamp all your posts...lol..neat pics bro

Thank goodness that hammered appeared and made the day. Not like the shabbiest day there wouldn't be the best day over in my neck of the woods. The only hammered I'm going to get is at the bottom of a bottle. Or a bad roofing accident.........

Maybe change it to 'Cru'team', your need it after harvest  I'm looking forward to having my holidays on the fields. For a few years now, its been a cheap way to unwind, as I'm not the lieing on a beach type :D
