Near Death Experiences?

Boy, had to correct my last post...must have been way tired when writing it ( it's still messed up in the quote on your last post, sorry).

That little book I mentioned (Christ in you)...well the title may be a little misleading, it embraces all ways of "coming home", and is/was way ahead of it's time, might surprise you in a good way. ;) Yes, agree on what you said about the "weird happenings" that lead to good things....

And...almost fell over when you mentioned "Yogananda"....I've loved him since I was a child, grew up going to the "Lake side Shrine" in Pacific Palisades! Would beg my dad to take us there, so magical, so special....although a swan did bit me once...:laughing7: I also have his bio and "Man's Eternal Quest". Always felt "drawn" to him.

That new book your wife found sounds very interesting, will check it out...:)

Man's Eternal Quest by him, is ANOTHER one of my "fave"; "empowered" me to get with Kay, The Quest Bookshop, UVA Students interested in Metaphysics, Creative Living Institute of the Shenandoah Valley... MANY "interesting" alternatives... AND! I began eating a "veggie" diet, again... with CHOP-STICKS! LOL!

where is the man that started this post? Oh and his wife. 8-)

Don't know him but, wonder where he (thread starter) went also?

Thanks Rebel for making that post on the other site about Larson...and for the beautiful prayer, again. Sounds like he may be doing better, nice to hear that.

When those we love become very ill, it's so hard. This is one of the most important reasons for a thread like THIS ONE...to learn/know that we don't truly die.

AGREE! AMEN! LOL! Dr. Kubler-Ross had UVA Nurses trained in working with terminally ill ppl; I was there, too... as a Counselor. My patient was a Mennonite lady, in a Hospice; I respected her beliefs & just did ACTIVE LISTENING. Of course, THAT was before my ALE in 1992. Dr. K-R had a home in Highland County, Va. and was taking care of babies with Aids; "locals" didn't like that & burned her home down. She was broken-hearted, got cancer... moved to AZ; later dying there (HUMAN FORM). SAD...

I remember Elisabeth, read her first book years ago. How wonderful that you worked as a Counselor, so worth while. What got you into that kind of work "before" your ALE? I also remember reading about some of the "hard times" she went through...truly very SAD, as you say. Remember hearing she had opened a place in Escondido CA for a while, and again had some problems. Yes, heard about her passing in her home in Scottsdale AZ...but she's fine/free now, so that's good thing.

K-R, FREE...? OF COURSE! "Working" to empower COMPASSION for ALL. As Counselor, it was an "interest area"... MAYBE, being "prepared".
K-R's training section for us (at UVA), was the "Stages of Grief"; CAN be utilized for survivors of any kind of TRAUMA. I used it for wife & I... STILL doing it. HOWEVER, I "changed" it a bit for us; Shock, Denial, Anger, Depression, Repression, Anger, Depression, Acceptance, RENEWAL of Mind; Transformation of LIFE/Spirit. I REFUSE the bargaining, "barter", "tit for tat" stage...

I have PTSD bad, at times... STILL, I am doing "Independent Study" on Cognitive Psychology, as it wasn't a "branch" of Psychology, when I got my Psychology degree in 1977; M.Ed. in Counseling, 1978... SO! In the 80's, did Transpersonal Psychology "work"... LOVED it! In terms of "Change in Behavior", I LIKE Cognitive Psychology... is Ed.D. in my "Future"...? MAYBE! Gotta "study" it, more... AND! Positive Psychology... ANOTHER "newbie" (branch).

"K-R Working to empower Compassion for ALL", wonderful. :icon_thumleft: Yes, you're probably being "prepared", and.... the best "teachers" are usually those who've "been there" & know what they're talking about, so you fit the bill nicely! When you said you have "PTSD", caused from...? I have someone close who also has it (war) and it does affect "life"...only help that REALLY works is "spiritual", other things more like "band-aids", from what I've seen. I also like the "Transpersonal Psychology"...but then it's not for everyone, at least at the beginning, sometimes...so the "Cognitive & Positive" ones would be a great start for many. Have you read M. Newton's books?

M. Newton... no; PSTD is from TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)... don't like SUDDEN movements, lights, kids running about from "no-where". Practicing Buddhist "Mindfulness" DOES help...

I'm sorry you're having to deal with PTSD Rebel, no fun for sure.:( But sounds like you're doing the right thing. My family member has the same "symptoms" and very bad nightmares. He does have a "belief system", so that's a HUGH help. I guess no matter what causes "PTSD", it's the same? Sorry...when I mentioned "M. Newton" wasn't thinking about the "R" thing & what you said before. If it matters, he (Dr.M. Newton) wasn't a believer either but, his patients got well after going through a "review".....so as M. Newton said..."what ever works". lol

The "concept" of PTSD is the same; individuals have their own "reactions" based on the trauma... combat vets, rape survivors, survivors of tornados/hurricanes, "crime", etc. Dr. MN does sound interesting; will do R & I, THANKS!

Thanks for the PTSD info., suppose even little kids could have it from a bad early life experience, terrible.

Carl Jung, like him.....and you're right, did hear/read about that. Once went to this church where a woman told me about hers (NDE), but she didn't want to tell it there because of the "fear" thing. I got to know her a little, so was able to get her to tell me. I tried to give her some support, so told her many people have them as well & they're real and not a "bad" thing. You can only do/say so much in certain instances...she still didn't tell them...still living undercover..so to speak, as far as I know...don't go there anymore.

Correct, ck; wife has EMOTIONAL "abandonment issues" from her disfunctional family up-bringing, which causes "pain & suffering" TODAY; and with "Men-on-pause", she is VERY sensitive in terms of emotional stability. NDE "experiencers" have to "choose their own battles" & NOT talk with ppl with pre-selected mind-sets of a "CONDEMNING kind". ONLY in a supportive environment, with ppl that are "open-minded" & eager to "learn" from ppl, who are "different" or have different "experiences" in HUMAN LIFE...

Seems there are a lot of "damaged" folk out there from "family"...sorry for your wife.:( Yes, you're right about "who" to confide in...some of us are lucky enough to have at least ONE open & accepting family member and just that really helps! Mine was my dad...amazing guy, miss him but will see him soon, can feel him around, so all is good!
Was wondering what the "classes" are like, in a room? My dad taught me how to "lucid" dream when young, interesting stuff. Once in a while was drawn to a cave, high up in some mountains. The entrance was large & opened up into a big room with a massive table, some chairs and others were there to, it had the most breath taking views. "They" said it was for people who's bodies were sleeping...but always couldn't remember more than that, but so real. Your mentioning "classes" make me think of it.

Your dad sounds like a GREAT guy! My "Night Classes" are just that... bunch of ppl sitting in a "class-room" with SOME "field trips" included... MANY "topics" that "play out" in "Real-Time" events in HUMAN FORM. Helpers are "Teachers"...

Yes, my dad is a Wonderful soul :angel9: and has a great sense of humor as well.

How often do you have "classes" and is the "room" akin to what you had in school here or different? Would like to know about the "field trips" also. Kind of reminds me a little of Monroe's "lessons" that would repeat over & over till he "reacted" in the correct way.

:icon_thumright:...on the helpers being Teachers.

Humor IS very important... to the point that my deceased uncle would pull on my big toe at night; practical joker he was...
he & my dad were best friends; one night, I was at ma's place, after dad had "passed"; alone in their (Ma & Pa) old bed-room, I heard dad & "uncle G." talking, laughing (as if joking around)... I KNOW their voices. Night Classes are whenever I hear the humming, buzzing sound like Huuuuu; not a regular "schedule". It starts with a class-room "setting" (like in college), and sometimes, a "field-trip". ONE FT was VERY memorable... a tour of BURNING HADE! YEP, 1st Dimension of our Multi-Verse is BURNING HADE; 2nd Dimension is where we are, NOW... in the HUMAN FORM; it is known as HADE; 3rd dimension is the beginning of HEAVEN, or as I see it... "THERE". ANYWAY, back to the FT; @ 10 of us were in an "air-conditioned" vehicle (Air Car), made of PURE crystal/glass... we "saw" fire, etc. like usually presented... not many "souls" (spirits) "burning". The Helpers explained that the purpose of BH was to "burn off" the DROSS of "sins" encasing the spirits, who choose to incarnate in HUMAN FORM for Good, Bad, Ugly experiences in THIS life (Human Form).
Bad & UGLY experiences cover up the spirits as "sins", and must be "burned off" in BH; sorta like in Alchemy... pay attention to the color changes that go on in the ALCHEMICAL PROCESS. Once the DROSS is burned of... the SPIRITS can return to "THE ALL"... INEFFABLE & VERY Cosmic info! Like an artist, who can see "David" or an "ANGEL" in the STONE; gotta knock off bits & pieces of the stone & "refine" it...
