Hi everyone. I'm in wilmington. I'm very interested in learning how to metal detect. I'm looking at getting a metal detector very soon. I'm looking at a whites pi. But I not sure if that is a good one for what I want to do. I want to search beaches and in the woods. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help. Ray
You want anything you can manually set ground balance on. I would recommend a Fisher F75 detector ($1,000ish). But those aren't cheap if you are on a budget.
If so. You would be okay with a Fisher F4. Since you can manually set the ground balance on these ($399ish).
Charlotte, NC and enjoy prospecting in the Charlotte Belt for gold. If anyone has any input on publicly available areas around here I'd love help. Thanks
Getting old & forgetful may have posted this before, between Rutherfordton & Marion in the South Mtn. Gold Belt. Blessed with gold & gems on property known as Treasure Valley.
Hello, I'm from Alexander NC just above Asheville. Is there a local club or anyone who wants to go detecting? I'm new to this hobby but have been employed in the past as an archaeologist for approx 7 years and have worked for various museums. I have an old turpentine plantation here and other places in the family over in Louisiana to detect. I'm looking for other people to detect with. I also own a sluice box. I'm also a member of the GPAA. Dan
