Sorry for the fuzziness, cheap camera, bad photographer..not a good combo..Think its clear enough to see enough detail....found this a while back, not sure of what exactly it is, possibly Civil war era, Union Navy? the front is as shown with 13 stars around the outer edge, anchor at a sligt angle, it is two piece and the benchmark on the back says.....J.R. Gaunt & Son N.Y., Made in England......Can anyone identify this and tell me more about it....Thanks!!

Cool button. Welcome to TresureNet!!! Although its very similar to civil war buttons, such as NA112 or NA113 in Albert's book, the sites I've found would put this a bit after the civil war... 1870 at the earliest, based on the back mark.
