Over 300 sadly my friend, but there still wrecking them to this day unfortunately.

Yes it is sad, that's why you can't find them, all hoarded up & sky high...
I have 2 blocks & 4 or 5 sets of heads, a few crankshafts. One's an early 440 mag., & a 400.
Be nice to have something to build 1 for. That one above is my friends. He sold one had
a rare factory sunroof to a collector from Calif. for 18k. I don't think he had 2k in it, but
it needed complete restoration. May've had original drive train, never been wrecked.

The irony that Ronnie wrote this song specifically, about the
experience of Gary Rossington's apparently taking some "ludes"
& drinking, or whatever, & wrecking his new car running into an oak
tree... Then Gary lives the longest of all the plane wreck survivors
except Artimus Pyle, who had already replaced their original
drummer, Bob Burns. But apparently he learned from that
near death experience. Gary outlived them all, & got
to play the song live, for many more years with
Johnny, & all of the other musicians...
