Natural artifact from sea

I have found several, what may be fossilized, objects on the seashore in the Bahamas. A biologist friend thinks that they are otoliths (fish ear bones). A geologist at University of South Carolina thinks they are part of a bivalve shell, but they seem too thick to me. Has anyone a familiarity with something like this? Please find photos.

I have seen very thick bi-valves. No photos however.
Someone here should be able to offer help. Very beautiful whatever they are.
