Natman's Used Cars

Hi all,

As promised, my collection of diecast to date. There's 112 in the box...I had alot more but they were either squashed or too badly decomposed or broken to keep. There's about every brand you can think of here..Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Corgi, Topper Johnny Lighnings, Tootsie Toy, Road Champs, Maisto and others.

Natman,I found a purple Tootsie jaguar today just like your pink one at a home that a guy I work with is going to have demolished this week.I will post it when my wife takes gets home to take pic.I love to find old toy cars as much as coins.

Sounds good, I'd like to see it! When I dig up a car I used to have as a kid, it's especially a good find and I equate it to finding "treasure" since it's a part of my past.

Nat, I love those redline cars you posted. Do you have the early Firebird (67 or 68)?

Yep, here's a couple of varieties..

This is the 1967 Custom Firebird. It came with and without door lines. The one with door lines is very valuable collectorwise.

This is the spoiler version called the Light My Firebird. It's a souped up version of the Custom Firebird, with an exposed engine, airfoil, stripes and numbers. It was released in 1970 and is one of 8 Spoilers models.

Just Incredible! Man I love those little Cars It's funny with all the talk of Gold coins and 1387 coins, how we all still love the simpler things of Mding also, maybe it's just the kid in us? I used to find a lot of them, they were everywhere you swang a coil, but not so many now-adays, I wonder why?
Good post Nat, very relaxing and entertaining hope there is more to come

Thanks Blue..I think you're right, diecast vehicles, no matter what brand they were, became a part of our history and a reminder of our childhood days..we'd come up with all kinds of scenarios, using our imaginations to develop intricate cities, road layouts, and racing events where WE were the drivers! When that world got left behind, we really didn't realize it..looking back these toys have a subtle way of reminding us those days are gone, but they leave behind very fond memories.

Thanks again for the nice replies, it's been fun for me as well!

Re: Natman's Used Cars

Hi all,

I hope all you dads had a great Father's Day!

I went out to yard #3 for about 45 minutes yesterday and found a 1955-D wheatie, an airplane and 15 more cars (how these things didn't get massacred by the ole lawn mower I'll never know!) Anyway some kid was REALLY into these toys at one time, but didn't bring them back in the house for some reason..

One of them was this rare Tootsie Toy VW Bug.
