No, but it would be dead mighty quick, just like the unidentified snake I found. He got broken up rather quick.

Spiders, which are arachnids and not insects, are probably the most helpful of all and any 'little' creatures that we humans live with, as well as being hugely fascinating creatures.
What other creature has 8 eyes and 8 legs?
I have a Love/Freak-Out :icon_shaking2: type relationship with them, yet I see no reason to kill them.

triki, a few years ago eastern Washington got hit
with an infestation of hobo spiders. I got bit one
night while i was asleep. Didnt feel a thing. The
next morning my arm started swelling up. Two
days later i went to the hospital where they gave
me a big pill and a shot in the hip/ass.of antibiotic.
Thought i was done. Not to be. Had to go back in
two days and do it again. Therefore, any spider in
my house is dead. Outside, most of them are safe.

That's what we call a common woods spider around here. They are the little turds that spin webs across footpaths that you are always running into when you go walking in the woods. I never heard of one biting someone, but I suppose it is possible if you should mash him against your bare skin accidentally or on purpose. They won't hurt you but they can make you hurt yourself! When I go 4-wheeling I always monunt a stick up higher than my head on the front of my 4-wheeler. The stick knocks down the spider webs before they hit me in the face. Monty

I held out and with weeks of strong antibiotics didnt need to cut out the infected part of my leg. .. It left a scar however. They like to hide in folded clothes and unused bedsheets. You can be bitten in your sleep and not feel it.

Around here the dirt dobbers fill their tunnels with these guys. Wasp eggs hatch and the grubs use the hapless spiders for food until they are grown and leave the tunnel.

Dear Friends, I am aware of the dangerous species and the damage they can do. Some years ago, I have seen a workmate's hand looking like a baseball glove (the Dr's saved it) after a bite from our local Katipo spider, a relative to the Aussie RedBack (named after a bloody nice wheat beer from Western Aussie), also related to the BlackWidow spider.
We currently live with white-tailed spiders in our house. They've been blamed for some nasty bites.
What I say is, don't destroy indiscriminately.

I got bit by a brown recluse some years back reaching into a pile of mulch. Felt it immediately. Fortunately, with the exception of a swollen hand for several days and a sore spot, it healed on its own.

I was told by my doctor if you are allergic to bees, the bite would be much worse. I'm mildly allergic to bees if stung multiple times so I guess I got off lucky.

I have spiders in my basement. If they are living there, they must be eating something else to stay alive. I leave them be until there are too many of them...then I run the shop vac thru and suck em up.
