Re: name on object i found

Did quick search and found this possibility; " C.M. Williams, a Harrisonville lawyer" bought "The Belton Mirror" (a weekly newspaper )in 1882. He changed the name to "The Cass County Leader" . It is currently known as "The Star Herald" Cass Co. MO.

Good luck! Maybe a satchel (old style briefcase)??

I found one similar to that years ago, it had the name, address and phone number on it. I always wondered what it was.

Re: name on object i found

"R.R." (or RFD) was used to designate Rural Route or Rural Free Delivery--as a mail address. R R #2 would designate the addressee lived on that particular postal route (#2). This may apply to your item.

Dog collar and name plate of owner. I have one in a foot locker that belonged to my grandfather and his old hunting dogs. as posted above R.R. is Rural Route for postage. Up until a few years ago we still had some R.R. addresses here in Indiana in the rural areas. I lived at R.R. 2 Box 207.
