Can't tomorrow....I am riding the bikes down with my son to south ga. But when you come next time holler at me we found a hole on owl that is sweet! I found the biggest piece I have found so far on Monday. 1/2" long and as thick as pencil lead!!! I LOVE PROSPECTING!!!!!

What are some good creeks to go? I've been to blankets and sixes. Good color. Got my first pickers a month ago

Sixes is where mine came from on vacation. We parked at the tennis courts in Bridge Mill, then across the road and follow the creek down just a few hundred feet you will see the painted bands indicating Corp of Engineers property. Got a couple pieces of wire gold breaking bedrock, and lots of flour gold in the gravel/ rock bars. Also check out that yellow clay on the root balls of downed trees. Really slimy stuff once it's wet, but it holds good gold.

Good stuff. That's where I met a guy who taught me how to pan. I remember thinking he might be an axe murderer Lol. Got my first gold there. Not a lot of water in the dry season though. While walking through the woods you can see tailing piles all though it. Watch out for snakes though

I was also told that as far as gold in the Etowah river and it's tributaries that the gold is on the south/ east side of the river.

So how much is the small flakes of gold worth? Also who buys it or who can you sell it to?

It sells well on eBay in its natural form. Most Prospecting Shops also buy gold at a slight discount.

For me.... It's worth more than they are willing to offer... Figure in blood sweat and such.... Your local mom and pop jeweler may also test it and buy it from you.

I agree with drywall man........mine is not for sale! Just looking at it and the memories is good for me!
